Introduction of BPC Department

What departments are taking charge to hold a business competition?

Since its establishment in 2011, BPC has successfully held 11 business- practice competitions so far. The successful holding of a business competition is inseparable from the cooperations between each department, as well as the hard work and unlimited creativity of each member. Come and choose your favorite department.

Number of new recruits：

Positions exist for people, and we have never had a rigid number limitation. As long as you perform well, we can see your enthusiasm and seriousness for BPC. In here, it must be a place for you!

Memo about recruiting new interviews：All departments except the academic department will not have any requirements for everyone's economic or business foundation! Everyone can learn the knowledge you might need in the club, and each department of BPC has different characteristics that they like. Please feel free to sign up for an interview and feel free to ask the Seniors if you have any question about the interview!

Message from the chairpersons: 

The business practice club starts from business and ends in practice. In the past eleven years, we have been committed to making high school students understand business, and encouraging high school students to use business to create real value. At BPC, I found my passion for business, from member to chairperson.

I still remember that after the finals ended in February this year, I opened the folder named "BPC format" in my computer, organized the files, and saw that the date of the first format was April 7, 2021. In more than half a year, ten hours of Tencent meetings, ten times of struggle until late at night, more than ten editions of the competition system, mixed with complex emotions such as excitement, distress, excitement, anxiety… had all turned into an unforgettable memories. Seeing the contestants and the organizing committee have heated discussions in the WeChat group, produced a beautiful and complete business plan, and the contestants' wonderful performance in the defense, I am really proud of everyone, we did it!

In the next year, we will continue to work together to go through the business competition and pass on this love to more business partners!

Planning Department

Department Intro: 

The Planning Department is the heart of BPC, the gathering place for elites, and the cradle of the chairperson. Here, you will no longer compete as a contestant but directly participate in the design of the business competition. Here, you can put your imaginative ideas into real-life practice.

 

As a member of the planning department, you can either participate in the competition as the organizing committee or serve as an academic assistant to assist contestants in making business plans during the competition. By entering the planning department, not only can you meet like-minded partners, and improve your imaginative thinking, expression skills, communication, and teamwork, but also gain valuable experience in organizing large-scale events and participating in real-life business practices. We, the planning department, sincerely welcome every single one of you enthusiastic individuals out there.

2021-2022 Department Activities Memoir:

Due to the impact of the pandemic, the 11th BPC finals were held online. During the preparation stage, Yawen, the Head of the Planning Department (the current chairperson of BPC), and Nicole, the Deputy Head of the Planning Department (the current vice chairperson of BPC), led the members of the Planning Department to adjust the competition rules promptly. On the basis of continuing the previous BPC business incubation model, the planning department proposed the theme of "Cross-Innovation", overcame the limitations of online competitions and other problems, and ensured the 11th BPCC final runs smoothly.

 

After the finals, the three current seniors in the Planning Department are assisting the winning team to land their business proposals. This business project is an app that includes a variety of Chinese cuisines and detailed information on those dishes. It is committed to helping foreign friends gain a deeper understanding of China's rich food culture, understand the raw materials used behind every dish, and avoid food allergies. We believe this app can facilitate foreign friends to adjust to life in China.

In addition, the business project of the winning group of the 10th BPCC finals: the Random Book Vending Machine has been put into use in Meisha Academy now, and will be officially put into use after the school starts in the fall of 2022!

 Academic Department

Depatrment Intro:

The academic department can be said to be the "knowledge hub" of BPC. Our department gathers a group of students who love business, and economics, and are willing to solvechallenging problems. Here, not only can everyone freely discuss and jointly explore knowledge in the field of economics and business, but also undertake the responsibility of providing professional academic support for BPC. We will publish articles on behalf of BPC, conduct academic tutoring, and provide advice on business competition design from different angles.

 

I sincerely welcome every student who loves the field of economics and business to join our department to conduct research in the academic field together, and combine theoretical knowledge with real-life practice inBPCC, so to deepen our understanding of these knowledge. In the academic department of BPC, we grow together.

2021-2022 Department Activities Memoir: 

The 11th BPC Academic Department head Joy held several small lessons in the department to take the members on a wild discussion on topics such as economic phenomena (E.g. survivor bias) and current news (E.g. content about Mata Universe), etc. She also lead the academic department to give all members of BPC lessons related to pricing strategies and business report writing methods.

 

On top of that, our department has also actively contributed to the orderly holding of BPCC. Our main responsibility is to assist the planning department to train the members of the organizing committee and academic assistants to master professional knowledge, write the academic exam of BPCC, and assist other departments to prepare for the competition.

Public Relations Department

Department Intro: 

The PR Department holds the funds and contacts for BPC. The PR Department is responsible for organizing business competition presentations outside the school to attract more participants and securing external sponsorships to meet the funds needed to run the club and realize business projects. Our main job is to negotiate partnerships with schools and major corporate groups to raise human and financial resources. The PR Department is the link between the club and the outside society. In the process of communicating with co-organizers and sponsors, members of the department can exercise their negotiation and communication skills, gain an in-depth understanding of the business operation model, and get precious experience coping with the society in advance. 

We welcome all ambitious and enthusiastic dreamers to try and innovate without fear!

2021-2022 Department Activities Memoir:

Last year, the PR Department further extended its partnership with some schools and enterprises, and on this basis, we especially invited several business elites as guests. In terms of enterprises, we successfully reached cooperation with Shenzhen Newspaper Education Media Group and Guoyan Software to broaden our business.

Publicity Department

Department Intro:

The Publicity Department is the main channel of communication between BPC and the society, and the basis and prerequisite for all activities to be successfully organized. The Publicity Department will allocate its department members according to their strength and capability, in charging various external propaganda tasks of BPC such as writing tweets, designing posters, etc. From the recruitment of the club to the promotion of the competition, from the pre-tournament warm-up to the post tournament record, the publicity department is responsible for all the most importation propaganda steps of the event. 

The BPC Publicity Department learned the best forms of expression and visual presentation, and interpreted the competition in their own wards, and the BPC Publicity Department polished a complete and thorough plan through the collision of various novel ideas, as the saying goes: absorbing others strength, constructing them into one.

2021-2022 Department Activities Memoir: 

In the preliminary preparation of BPCC, the main task of the Publicity Department was to advertise the competition to all over the country. In order to do so, the department have to communicate with other major business clubs nationwide to cooperate in the competition, to gather outstanding participants for the competition. Near the start of the competition, the Publicity Department prepared posters, badges, and other materials, and designed a variety of awards to enhance the atmosphere of the competition.

The official opening of the competition was a tense and exciting moment. The task of the publicity department was to follow the pace of the competition, summarize and write tweets on the same day, and share the events to everyone who followed as fast as possible. Each and every member of the Publicity Department worked hard and conscientiously for this vital job. Our purpose was not only to deliver information, but also to share the joy and sense of accomplishment that belonged to BPC.

Support Department

Department Intro: 

The BPC Support Department is the department with the widest range of tasks, covering all aspects of the community affairs. Members will have the opportunity to experience different jobs and get to know more peers inside and outside the school. The main work of the General Department includes: the freshmen sharing meeting at the beginning of the semester and the holding of the ECA Fair, the sale of roses on Halloween, and the logistics and Q&A work in the business competition. All members of the Support Department should do their best to handle every pre-preparation and post-event improvement for BPC, and all the work need to be truly comprehensive.

The BPC Support Department is a space for all participants to improve their abilities in all aspects. Different from theoretical knowledge, the Support Department focuses on all aspects of practice: including the ability to organize large-scale team building, master relevant marketing knowledge, and have the ability to deal with management between different departments.

2021-2022 Department Activities Memoir:

In 2020-2021, the BPC Support Department had continued its tradition of holding Halloween Rose Selling and selling 3000+ roses. On the day of the Halloween dance, BPC will spread romantic enthusiasm and surprises to every corner of SCIE. In the 2022 BPCC business competition, Kate, the deputy director of the 11th BPC Support Department, was fully responsible for the management of the players through the WeChat account of the official BPCC assistant.
